What is This Project

Ghoster Coaster is a fun and spooky location-based experience implemented in "The Cave", a room constructed with three projected screens and a programmable moving floor. The guest will go on an adventure in a abandoned mine cave, fighting evil spirits along the ride.

This world is a combination of two 5 person teams' previous work. During the process of preparing for the annual Entertainment Technology Center Festival, we decided to join forces and transform our projects into a more festival-friendly experience. We kept the cart control system and the event system from our original project and cut short a major part of the story to focus on making the experience fun and able to have multiple guests at once.

The Cart and Event Control System

In this project, I built the control systems for the mine cart and the events triggered along the ride. The cart control system allows users to start and stop, speed up or slow down the cart manually. It can also be automatically triggered through the event system. The event system I built for this project is designed to be user-friendly for users who might not necessarily be programmers. The user can arrange the events by a drop-down list and a few buttons without touching any code.

Before Transformation

In our original world, the guest plays a lost soul who's not willing to face the truth of their own death. The ride will take the guest on a journey to remember and confront their death.
